TITHING PRINCIPLES

.
WHAT IS TITHING?
The world tithe means one-tenth (1/10) of one's increase or income.
Genesis 28:32

Tithe is not just one-tenth, but the first tenth.  Leviticus 27:26

WHO SHOULD TITHE?
The Lord's people.  II Chronicles 31:5 & Nehemiah 13:12

The preachers and church officers.  Numbers 18:26-28.  All who have an income of any kind.

WHY SHOULD WE TITHE?
We should tithe because God said so. Malachi 3:8-10

We should tithe because it is a means of acknowledging God as the owner of everything.  I Chronicles 29:14

We should tithe in the performance of good stewardship.

We should tithe because tithing money is cursed money. Joshua 7 &
Leviticus 27:26

WHERE SHOULD WE TITHE?
Every member should give their tithe to the church that they have joined.

HOW SHOULD WE TITHE?
We should tithe joyfully, sacrificially, wholeheartedly, liberally, purposefully, willingly, and without delay.  II Chronicles 8-9

Tithe is an act of worship.  Proverbs 3:9-10 & Deuteronomy 12:11-12

Tithing should be the minimum amount that a Saint of God should give.  Matthew 5:20; 7:23

Tithing is an expression of the heart.  Learning to tithe early teaches us about discipline, stewardship, and giving, which comes from a generous heart. This translates to overcoming selfishness.  You may think that this mandate from God is not necessary, but this serves as a reminder that everything we have the Lord has provided.

Be blessed!
